PLEASE NOTE THIS CLASS REQUIRES PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE!

Saturday, October 5, 10-4, &
Sunday, October 6, 2-4:30

1½-day workshop. Tuition $469.00; includes materials and use of tools. Previous fusing experience required.

Space is limited; tuition must be paid in advance to reserve your space in a class.

Working in thick fused blocks of glass allows many unique opportunities to create a feeling of space in a finished piece! This workshop focuses on creating depth of field in a 6” x 6” fused glass block thirteen layers thick; students will learn how to use the placement of color imagery on multiple layers for maximum visual impact in the finished piece.

Using a picture or design of their choice as inspiration, students will use sheet glass, frits, stringers, paint, and more to translate their image to multiple layers of glass, which will then be assembled on day two into a thick block.

The entire process will be covered from beginning to end, including imagery choices, design suggestions, and stacking and damming to create a finished piece straight from the kiln, without the need for extensive coldworking!
