Mosaic is a versatile art form that has been used to create intricate and beautiful imagery since antiquity. It is an accessible medium for all skill levels, can be made of different materials, and can be applied to almost any surface.
In this workshop, students will focus on the use of colored sheet glass to create their own mosaic in a pattern of their choice. Previous experience is not required- if you’ve never cut glass, you will learn how to cut, break, and grind glass to fit your design.
Students will assemble a 12”x12” mosaic on their choice of substrate; wood for an opaque piece, or clear glass, which will allow light to shine through. A variety of pre-made patterns will be available for use, or students may create their own. Once grouted, students will mount the mosaics into wood frames for that perfect finishing touch!
All aspects of the mosaic process will be covered, from surface preparation to glass cutting, adhesives, grouting, and finishing. Techniques taught in this class can be applied to many different projects.

TUITION CANCELLATION POLICY FOR THIS WORKSHOP
If we need to cancel a class: If Weisser Studio needs to cancel this class for lack of sufficient enrollment or other unforeseen cause, a full tuition refund will be given.
If you need to cancel out of class: Tuition will not be refunded for students' cancellations made within 21 days of the first date of the class unless a replacement is seated. A processing fee of $35.00 applies to all refunded or transferred tuitions for this workshop.
