Limited availability in copper-backed or silver-backed, in 3/16", 7/32", & 1/4" widths
36 yard rolls, 1.25 mil thick.
The choice of professionals, this high-quality stained-glass adhesive foil tape is a sturdy 1.25 mil thickness that resists tearing while still maintaining flexibility while wrapping. The soft, malleable consistency allows foil to be applied easily to even the tightest inside curves without splitting. The heat-resistant adhesive helps keep the foil from pulling away from the glass during the soldering process.
The copper-backed variety is an ideal choice when working with opaque or dark transparent glasses, or when a project will be finished with a copper patina. We suggest using black-backed foil when a dark patina will be applied to the finished piece, and the silver-backed foil when the project will retain the natural solder color. In these cases, where the adhesive side of the foil may be visible through the glass, it will match the finished color of the solder lines.
Not sure what width foil you need? Here's what we recommend:
3/16"- For smaller pieces or thinner glass, or where a narrower solder seam is desired.
7/32"- Our go-to standard width for most projects, great for beginners.
1/4"- Use for thicker or more textured glass, or where a wider solder seam is required.
